Reading books and painting while being sick…

Well, Guess what? Being absent for two straight days at work because of a cough, colds and fever, plus tonsillitis doesn’t stop me from doing my thing – reading books and painting.

These past days, I’ve been too absorbed reading Danny Chen’s book on Introduction to Chinese Brush Painting. The book is much like of an impromptu and very informative art lessons with him. Anyways, you should check this book out. Interesting and it helps you understand the Chinese brush painting techniques.

What also struck me in his book is his statement that “to paint is to create a harmonious balance of space- within and beyond the canvas”- which is kinda powerful, inspiring and very salient.

Here’s the book’s front cover. See image below.

Also, this painting I made, came to be, using some of the techniques instructed in the book. I somehow merged with it the traditional Western watercolor techniques. Whatchtink, folks. Please feel free to comment.

Into the Artist’s Realm…

Inside the Artist’s realm lies mystery. A simple thought springs to life. Sounds turns to music; colors to pattern.
Texture from light; strokes to lines, lines to shapes. Likewise, shapes to image and images to masterpiece.
Mankind’s true treasure has always been Pure love.

An artist’s job is to feel alive. To become a humane human, able to feel emotions. To find joy, triumph and cheer in every simple reason there is; to suffer pain, lose and disappointment in all adversities. Most importantly, to feel love.

With pure love, everything is enough.

May the butterfly and Yimura’s Piano Music Collection soothe your souls as I welcome you all, to the Artist’s Realm. 🙂

With love,

Hendrix
